What is Everyman Talks
Everyman Talks is born out of the most powerful aspects of the human ability, and the need for us as a society to delve into them, in order to improve your mental wellbeing, improve your relationships, and improve yourself.
An “Everyman” is referring to the “Average person”. The people you won’t meet in the street, but will walk past and not affect your life at all… so just like you don’t affect theirs! So, just like you.
We are all unique, but it is worth knowing and understanding, that our fundamentals, and basic actions and abilities, are all the same, person to person. It’s powerful to be the same.
Why? Because we can relate to each other… we can understand each other from our worst to best. We can hear each other’s pain, joy and love, and feel the energy, because it’s likely we’ve felt something similar. That’s powerful because we’re tribal in nature. We need people for so much - but we cut each other far too much due to societies “standards” and generational “cultures” blocking people off to one another.
How do we access that power of similarity? Talking… and listening… and really talking… and really listening. With an open mind and an open heart, and the desire to connect.
The Everyman Talks is exactly that - an Everyman method of Talking. Speaking through experiences, through vulnerability and through examples of real-life growth.
Who is the Everyman
Driven on to a self-development journey, by health troubles and eye-opening diagnoses over a decade ago, John Stacey is human, a father, a husband, a trained counsellor (who never counsels!), a public speaker, workshop facilitator, and a charity trustee.
Believing that we need to come together more as a community, and win together as a collective, John has worked with people to connect others and open minds to self-growth for the last decade.
Without opening up to mindsets, ideologies, and learnings. Without connecting with like-minded inspiring people. Without trying… John believes he wouldn’t be here today. Moreover, he’s not surviving, (most of the time!) he’s thriving!
During the last decade John has helped to drive change at parliamentary level for Fathers Mental Health work, founded an award-winning non-profit aimed at bringing peer support to his local community of Lincolnshire, and been a founder and trustee of a handful of different charities all driving change to support fellow humans.
Now, he’s a father of two amazing girls, a husband to an equally amazing wife, as a day-job is a Marketer for a company who truly believe in serving the community at the heart of all they do, and above all else, he’s still just an average bloke - an Everyman.
